About the Event
The Lausanne Guide was founded in 2012 by American expats and newly-minted lausannoises Tanya Christensen and Sarah Decorvet. Each week, The Lausanne Guide features stories of restaurants or boutiques to visit, profiles on local artists or entrepreneurs, or events to attend. The Lausanne Guide community also comes together in real life for special events highlighting local brands and businesses. The website was built on the idea that meaningful connection with the city and the local community leads to a richer, more fulfilling experience, turning residents into neighbors.
Though that idea may be counter-intuitive in a globalized world, it resonated with readers.
And what was supposed to be a short term creative project between friends developed into a now six-year mission with growing ambitions to support and serve Lausanne and the lucky people who live here. Tanya and Sarah will share from their experience on developing an authentic community in an often inauthentic digital space.
